Now Foods Oregano Oil now comes with an enteric coating, designed to help prevent stomach upset. Now Foods Oregano Oil is a slightly minty, slightly spicy herb is actually a member of the mint family. NOW Oregano Oil Softgels contain a minimum of 55% carvacrol, the most widely researched active ingredients in oregano. When burned, it's oil gives off a pleasant, calming aroma. In the kitchen, it's commonly used to add zest to Italian foods.
It is derived from Origanum vulgare, which is grown in the eastern Mediterranean region, predominantly in Turkey. It contains a minimum of 55% carvacrol, one of the active components naturally occurring in Oregano, and is derived from a variety known commonly as Òwild oreganoÓ. NOW's product is all natural and not genetically modified in any way. NOW Oregano Oil products (also known as Oil of Oregano) are 100% steam distilled without the use of chemicals and GC/IR Verified by qualified analytical chemists.
Because the Oregano Oil is highly concentrated, it should not be used undiluted unless it is being used solely for Aromatherapy (smelling it). Even then, please exercise caution. Although this is a natural product, it is very concentrated.NOW recommends the use of a professional aromatherapist or a recipe from a reputable aromatherapy book when using 100% pure essential oils for any other purpose.
