Incan Superfood

Maca is a potent superfood root from the Andes Mountains of Peru that has been prized for centuries by indigenous cultures due to its ability to nourish, increase stamina, boost libido, and combat fatigue. It is a complex, nutrient-dense whole food that is a good source of vitamins, amino acids, plant sterols, essential minerals, and essential fatty acids. Navitas Naturals Gelatinized Maca Powder is a concentrated form made by extracting the starch, which makes the nutrition easier to digest and absorb. Maca powder has a nutty butterscotch flavor that blends well in a variety of recipes.

Superfood of the Andes — Organic, Gluten-Free, Non-GMO, and Kosher

To make Navitas Naturals Gelatinized Maca Powder, our farming partners hand-select the finest raw maca roots from the Junin Plateau of the Peruvian Andes. The hardy, herbaceous plant is one of the rare botanicals that can thrive in such an extreme ecological zone. The raw maca roots are gently dried and milled at low temperatures to preserve the complex nutrition of the raw superfood. Gelatinization is an extrusion process that removes the starch, which creates a more concentrated powder that is easier to digest and absorb. Product of Peru, Packed in the USA.

Culinary Suggestions for Gelatinized Maca Powder

Navitas Naturals Gelatinized Maca Powder has a malty, nutty taste with hints of butterscotch flavor. It can be mixed easily into smoothies, shakes, energy bars, yogurt, and juices for a flavorful and healthy boost. It can also be added to desserts, chocolates, and baked goods. Add some to your favorite pancake batter to create an energizing breakfast. The maca root is a common food among people in mountainous regions of Peru where it is often boiled and sliced — similar to potato chips. It’s also used there as a gruel with milk and is often cooked with potatoes, apples, oats, quinoa, or fava beans. A popular preparation of maca is ‘watia’, a traditional method of cooking with a hole dug underground and filled with layers of maca and hot coals to roast the roots.
