Sodium Chloride, Salt USP, 1 Cup

$11.49

Product Description

Sodium Chloride is the chemical name for table salt. Long ago salt was rare and expensive and considered a valuable commodity that was used as currency. As salt became more abundant and inexpensive, especially after the Industrial Revolution, salt found its way into food processing, causing the average consumption of salt to soar. In keeping with Dr. Clarks purity standards, our Sodium Chloride is non-iodized, which eliminates the need for anti-caking ingredients that are often insoluble. USP salt contains the same concentration as found in the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Sodium Chloride irrigant commonly used to cleanse wounds.

Product Benefits:

Both sodium and chloride are the principle components of the fluid outside the cells. These two electrolytes play an important role in several life-sustaining processes including nerve impulse transmission, muscle contraction, and cardiac function. Regulation of sodium and chloride concentrations in the body is crucial for normal body functions including the absorption of amino acids, water, and glucose, and the production of gastric juices that are needed for digestion.*
